Finishing The Job

By mike flugennockFriday - May 12th, 2023Categories: 2024 Election, Bidenism, Economy, Party Animals, Ukrainamania, war and peace

It is with anxiety, chagrin and dread that I present this, my first cartoon of the 2024 Presidential “election” slog…

…and despite the massive disappointment and lack of enthusiasm of huge swaths of Democratic voters, Gropin’ Joe announced his re-election campaign kickoff with a promise to “finish the job”… at which point yours truly, like millions of others, is cringing and asking themselves: what job would THAT be — immiserating the poor and the working class? Terrorizing immigrants and bullying our next-door neighbors? Fattening up the war profiteers and Wall Street? Beating down anti-war dissent in public media? Dragging us into World War III?

Lotta big jobs to finish there, Joester; guess you’re going to need four more years to thoroughly fuck shit up, huh?

What’s In A Name?

“Meet the new boss, you’ll be amazed at the similarities between him and the old boss.”

What’s in a name? I mean, what really is a “detention facility”, anyway? Apparently, anything Gropin’ Joe and his flunkies say it is, or isn’t.

No matter what the answer, I have to admit that it was deee-lish reading about how White House mouthpiece Jen Psaki faceplanted and Liberals twisted themselves into pretzels trying to convince us that kids in cages are not, in fact, kids in goddamn cages.

Keeping Families Together

By mike flugennockThursday - June 21st, 2018Categories: Party Animals, Trumpism, liberty

WASHINGTON — President Trump caved to enormous political pressure on Wednesday and signed an executive order meant to end the separation of families at the border by detaining parents and children together for an indefinite period.

New York Times, 06.20.18

So, Mr. T has decided not to separate immigrant children from their parents in the detention camps at the border, but to keep immigrant families together — in detention camps.

In the Democratic Party, this is known as a landmark victory.

And, needless to say, the Democrats are setting a new record for jumping on an issue and co-opting it for votes, beating their previous personal best set by the March For Our Lives.

Arizona Hurricane Victim

By mike flugennockSaturday - August 26th, 2017Categories: Trumpism, environment

So, as most of you know by now, Trump has pardoned one of the most horrific excuses for a sherriff in US history, one Joe Arpaio, proprietor of the open-air concentration camp in Maricopa County, Arizona, who was convicted of illegally profiling Latin immigrants for arrest.

Ya gotta hand it to the Orange one; his timing was impeccable on this one — handing down the pardon just as Hurricane Harvey was coming ashore on the Texas Gulf Coast at about 125mph, and thousands were evacuating inland — including many Latin immigrants.

To add insult to injury, the Border Patrol and other immigration police kept their checkpoints open to demand immigrants’ papers as they fled the storm, leaving “illegal” immigrants in danger of arrest and deportation. Yeah, that’s right — the goddamn’ La Migra were looking to nab immigrants in the middle of running for their lives. And to add even further insult, the mayor of Rockport, Texas advised anyone not evacuating to write their name and Social Security numbers on their arms so that their bodies could be identified.

Where the Bush Regime’s handling of the Katrina response was merely massively negligent, the Trump Junta’s Harvey response is straight-up malicious. It’s like the Katrina response turned up to 11.
