{"id":1416,"date":"2013-12-06T18:53:53","date_gmt":"2013-12-06T23:53:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sinkers.org\/stage\/?p=1416"},"modified":"2013-12-06T18:54:29","modified_gmt":"2013-12-06T23:54:29","slug":"egyptian-revolution-no-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sinkers.org\/stage\/?p=1416","title":{"rendered":"Egyptian Revolution no.2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sinkers.org\/posters\/egyptianrevolution2\/egyptianrevolution2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sinkers.org\/posters\/egyptianrevolution2\/egyptianrevolution2_600w.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"610\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Anyone who knows my work will tell you that I really love parodying famous works of art, and the recent revival of revolutionary action in the streets following the Egyptian government&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/k9bpbae\" target=\"_blank\">newly-passed law restricting public protest<\/a> seemed the perfect time to do my version of one of my favorite 19th Century French paintings: Eugene Delacroix&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/n38hqpe\" target=\"_blank\">Liberty Leading The People.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All across Egypt, <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/ley83y4\" target=\"_blank\">ordinary people are taking to the streets<\/a> to assert their rights in defiance of government efforts to criminalize public protest.
