His work first appeared widely in the old <em>Yipster Times<\/em> &#8216;zine in 1978; he has since served on the editorial board of the DC Independent Media Center, illustrated the covers of <a href=\"http:\/\/sinkers.org\/stage\/?p=289\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Progressive<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/sinkers.org\/stage\/?p=219\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Alternative Press Review,<\/em><\/a><em> <\/em>and has been featured in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sinkers.org\/posters\/presskit\/flugennockstyleSep2702.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Washington <em>Post <\/em>Style<\/a> section, Washington <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/48nmjgc\" target=\"_blank\"><em>City Paper<\/em> Arts<\/a> section, RT America TV and the Jimmy Dore Show for his editorial cartoons and art promoting mass protests and popular movements.<\/p>\n<p>Born in 1957 and raised on classic Saturday morning cartoons and \u201860s and \u201870s underground \u201ccomix\u201d, Flugennock works in a distinctive style which has inspired readers and activists to \u201cflypaste\u201d his art in solidarity with his statements in city streets around the world. <em><strong>(At left:<\/strong> Mike on the streets of downtown DC, postering for the Fall 2002 IMF\/World Bank protests.
